Global PR Agency Rankings 2024: Top 10 Down 4%

The global PR industry's top 10 firms delivered declining returns amid challenging conditions, down 4.3% in USD terms when compared to last year's top 10 group, after growing 12% in 2022. This year's top 10 group reports fee income of $6.3bn, although this was partially impacted by our re-estimation of holding group agency revenue.

Beyond the headline figures there are some notable events that shape the composition and growth of the world's 10 biggest PR firms. Chief amongst these is Edelman's 3.9% decline after becoming the industry's first $1bn PR firm, in 2022.

Growth was led by Real Chemistry (+7%), alongside Japan's Vector (+6.4%) and Germany's Media Consulta (+20%). Several firms saw their overall fee income decline after a re-estimation of their earnings, with Ogilvy PR dropping out of the top 10 and Media Consulta entering in its place. Other than that, there are few positional changes.

It also remains worth noting that four of the top 10 firms are independently owned, reflecting how independent PR firms, often fuelled by private equity funding, have outgrown their publicly-held peers over the past decade.

All growth figures are on a reported (rather than organic) basis. A fuller picture of global PR industry size is provided by the analysis of our Global Top 250, based on submissions from almost 400 PR firms from across the world.
